Eastern Canadian Fisheries Expo Announces
Hall of Fame Winners

For Immediate Release
Issued: January 10, 2023

Yarmouth, NS – One of Canada’s longest-running, most successful commercial fishing shows returns to the Yarmouth Mariners Centre next weekend. The Eastern Canadian Fisheries Exposition, held every two years in southwestern Nova Scotia, offers a comprehensive showcase of commercial marine products and services. The show is presented in partnership with the Navigator Magazine, the Voice of Atlantic Canada’s Fishing Industry.

“This sold-out event will soon take over the Mariners Centre with exhibitors from across the country and beyond,” said Show Manager, Shawn Murphy. “The commercial fishing industry has advanced greatly in the past few years and this show will bring together all things new and exciting.”

Again in 2023, deserving individuals who have made valuable contributions to the marine industry will be inducted into the Atlantic Canada Marine Industries Hall of Fame. Awards are given in three categories: Mariner, recognizing individuals who work or have worked on the water in any marine industry; Processor, recognizing individuals involved in the business of processing, from line workers to company owners; and Builder, recognizing those who have made contributions without having directly participated.

The following inductees will be honoured at the show this week:

• Penny Graham from Brier Island, Nova Scotia (Mariner)
• Terry Zinck from Clark’s Harbour, Nova Scotia (Processor)
• Bruce Atkinson from Clark’s Harbour, Nova Scotia (Builder)

At its last edition in 2019, attendees included fish harvesters, fish processors, those involved in the workboat industry, search & rescue organizations, and other professions in, on, or around the water. This year’s edition will offer visitors a chance to see even more innovative products for the fisheries and marine industry and chat with companies from across the Maritimes, Canada, and abroad.

Additional features include door prizes from Maritime Marine and Helly Hansen along with a networking reception happening on Friday evening.

The Eastern Canadian Fisheries Exposition is part of an array of marine trade events in Atlantic Canada produced by Master Promotions Ltd. in partnership with The Navigator. Other related events include the North Atlantic Fish & Workboat Show and Fish Canada Workboat Canada, held in Saint John’s, NL and Moncton, NB respectively.

Visitors are encouraged to pre-register to receive a show badge in advance, skip lines, and save 50% on admission. Visitor registration can be found here. Online registration will close Thursday, January 19 and registration will be $20 at the door.
