Moncton, NB – With a hefty lineup at show open and packed aisles throughout the weekend, the 2017 editions of the New Brunswick Sportsmen’s Show and the Dieppe Fly Fishing Forum were huge successes, beating all previous attendance numbers. The weather was perfect for outdoor enthusiasts to come out and get excited for spring, as evidenced by the more than 10,000 visitors in attendance.

The two shows took place this past weekend, March 31st through April 2nd, at the Moncton Coliseum Complex. The Moncton Boat Show was co-located at the same venue and visitors got to enjoy all three events for one low admission price.

“This is the third year in a row that we’ve set records with the shows’ attendance,” said Show Manager Scott Sprague. “The numbers have been consistently up and we’re happy to see solid crowds and people shopping and taking in everything this massive event has to offer.”

Show exhibitors were thrilled with the overall atmosphere of the event and the eager shoppers, who were in the mood to buy gear and equipment for all their outdoor activities! Sales were particularly strong for flies and fishing gear.

“The show was very good,” said Luc Gagné, L.G Fly & Rod. “Lots of new exhibitors and new faces this year!”

“We’ve been attending the NB Sportsmen’s Show for many years and it’s always a successful weekend!” said Emilie Broad, BroadView Power Sports Ltd. “We met tons of customers and had some great sales. It’s awesome to be dealing with the Master Promotions team; they are well organized and just a great bunch of people to deal with!”

“This show was a great success for us, being our first time attending,” said Brad LeDrew, Arluk Outfitters. “The show team was absolutely fantastic to deal with and extremely helpful. This show had a lot of traffic and Saturday was probably the busiest we have been out of all the shows we did this season. There was a lot of interest in Newfoundland in general and we were greeted with large smiles and personal stories about our province. Our plan is to make this show an annual trip!”

The Canadian Duck & Goose Calling Championship was once again held at this year’s show and proved to be an exciting competition. Congratulations to all participants and to the winners of each category, including Open Duck, which was a qualifier for the world championship in Stuttgart, Arkansas, taking place in November 2017. First place was won by Matthew Wilson, second place by Travis Dufour, and third place by Scott Myshrall.

The Bass Pro Stage hosted a wide range of seminars throughout the weekend, with hunting and calling tips, dog training, fly tying and casting, hunting for women and kids and more. Thanks to all who attended along with the great presenters!

Congratulations to Jared Coady, winner of the show’s door prize, generously provide by Back Country Bow Shop.
