Halifax, NS – Atlantic Canada’s only show focused on motorcycle and powersports took place this past weekend, March 2-4 at Halifax Exhibition Centre. Now in its fifth edition, Motorcycle and Powersport Atlantic broke attendance records with its largest crowd yet. On the heels of a busy Saturday, final counts reveal 9,548 people took in the event, a four per cent increase over 2017.

“Bike enthusiasts continue to bring the community out to this show in bigger crowds each year,” said Scott Sprague, Show Manager. “The venue was buzzing all weekend with live music, tattooing, stunt demos, and an overwhelming amount of show sales. Hundreds of customers walked out the doors with new gear and ideas for their next big purchase. We couldn’t have asked for a better event!”

The 2018 show filled Halifax Exhibition Centre with hundreds of the latest models, clubs, rallies, and a variety of thrilling features. The Ink ‘n Iron Tattoo Competition was back, a crowd favourite with dozens of entrants. Trophies were awarded in nine categories including Best Colour, Best Black and Grey, and more. Recap the live broadcast of the judging ceremony on the show’s Facebook page here.

The live tattooing that took place throughout the weekend was also well-attended, with visitors getting some great ink from the start of the show on Friday until the close of the show on Sunday.

Additional show features included a Custom Corner; motorcycle training for kids aged 6-12 with the Nova Scotia Off Road Riders Association (sponsored by Honda Canada); Show n’ Shine with an impressive array of custom bikes; a silent auction raising over $800 for the non-profit group Bikers Down; and live music from Brass Knucklehead, along with a Donair date benefitting Hospice Halifax on Friday evening.

Congratulations to Dario Mazzorana, the 2018 door prize winner. Dario has won a getaway at White Point Beach Resort – thanks to all who entered!

Best wishes to all motorcycle and powersport enthusiasts as the spring riding season begins! Stay tuned to www.BikeAtlantic.ca for details on the next edition of Motorcycle & Powersport Atlantic, which will take place in 2019.
