For Immediate Release
Issued: June 6, 2019

Moncton, NB –  Shining displays of trucks, trailers, and more are headed to the Atlantic Truck Show this Friday and Saturday. The largest event of its kind east of Montreal, the Atlantic Truck Show will take place June 7 & 8. It is presented by the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association.

“With move-in happening throughout the week, we’re busy getting everything in place for show open on Friday,” said Mark Cusack, National Show Manager. “A diverse range of products will be on site, from a variety of trucks and trailers, to transmissions, work vehicles, cargo power solutions and a lot more. Vocational trucks are also a big focus for us this year. There’s a reason the industry looks forward to this event every two years – it’s a big one.”

The show draws visitors from throughout New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and beyond. Held every two years, the event attracts significant crowds, with more than 12,000 attendees taking part in the most recent edition in 2017.

Some special features planned for the two days include:

High school students and adults not currently working in the trucking industry are invited to attend a seminar at the show to learn about the many different employment opportunities in this diverse field, presented by the APTA’s Transport Liaison Officer. Scheduled seminars take place at 1:30 p.m. on both days of the show and are free of charge, and more casual sessions will take place in the APTA’s booth, #601.

The 2019 Canadian Salute to Women Behind the Wheel takes place on Saturday, June 8 at 11:00 a.m. This celebration of professional female drivers is presented by OBAC, Trucking Human Resources Sector Council Atlantic, and the Atlantic Provinces Trucking Association, in partnership with Women in Trucking.

Don’t miss the mint condition pull-toy 1980 Freightliner, built by Cummins, on display at the event.

Exhibitors at the show participate in Innovative Product Awards each year to highlight cutting-edge developments in technology on the market. The winning product(s) will be on display and recognized throughout the event. This year’s products are:
WINNER: Wabash Canada, for the MSC Refrigerated Trailer
RUNNER-UP: Innovative Hydrogen Solutions, for i-PHI
RUNNER-UP: Grote Industries, for the Grote Guardian Smart System
