Moncton, NB – Fish Canada Workboat Canada, the nation’s largest commercial marine event returning to Moncton this January 24 & 25, is announcing three new inductees to be honoured at this year’s event. Presented in partnership with the Navigator Magazine, these awards pay a lasting tribute to those who have made valuable contributions in any sector of the marine industry.

The awards are presented in three categories: Mariner, recognizing individuals who work or have worked on the water in any marine industry; Processor, recognizing individuals involved in the business of processing, from line workers to company owners; and Builder, recognizing those who have made contributions without having directly participated.

Congratulations to this year’s inductees:

  • MARINER: Dennis Gaudet (Tignish, P.E.I.)
  • PROCESSOR: Rodolphe (Rudy) LeBreton (Neguac, N.B.)
  • BUILDER: Laurence Cook (Grand Manan, N.B.)

Full bios and stories of the inductees, alongside previous Hall of Fame winners, will be on display at the event.

Fish Canada Workboat Canada is the largest commercial marine trade show in the country. At its last edition in 2018, a record 6,659 visitors took to the show floor, and current pre-registration numbers are on track to meet or exceed that figure. The crowd includes those who make their living on, in, and around the water, along with those who provide the related products and services to keep Atlantic Canada’s marine-based industries running. The two days provide a key opportunity for members of the commercial marine sector to connect with thousands of qualified buyers.

Special features planned for the show include three full-size fishing boats on display for visitors on the show floor, along with an educational seminar program. Speakers from different sectors of the industry will be on hand to present on topics including oil spill assistance for commercial fishers, and climate change and marine biodiversity. Click here for the list of special features planned for the event.

Convenient online registration is available for only $10.00 by clicking here. Pre-registration allows visitors to save money (the price increases to $20.00 at the door) and fast-tracks their entrance to the show floor.
