Halifax, NS – Motorcycle and Powersport Atlantic ran a successful show in Halifax this past week, March 6-8 at the Halifax Exhibition Centre. Displaying hundreds of units from top brands in motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and more, this year’s event welcomed an increase in exhibits, visitors, and brand-new attractions including a Strongman and Ironman Competition.
“The Maritime riding community definitely showed up to the 2020 edition of Motorcycle & Powersport Atlantic,” says Scott Sprague, Event Manager. “It’s great to be able to bring together folks from across Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and beyond. This is the top event of its kind in the region, and in hearing feedback from visitors and exhibitors, this year was a hit amongst attendees, exhibitors, and partners.”
A temporary riding track set up for the event hosted kid’s riding demos and impressive riding tricks from Stunt 902 throughout the weekend. Tattoo and beard competitions were also held onsite, showing off some of the region’s most talented artists and beard enthusiasts.
The new Heavier Than Hell strongman competition, hosted in partnership with Renfrew Strength & Conditioning Center and Popeye’s Supplements, was a popular feature. Spanning Saturday and Sunday, visitors witnessed impressive shows of strength at the Strongman Open & Renfrew Pro CPF Ironman. Winners at the Heavier Than Hell competition were as follows:
Amateur Women: Birgit Elssner
Open Women: Brittany Pepperdene
Amateur Lightweight Men: Deon Burbine
Amateur Heavyweight Men: Brandon Kennedy
Open Men: Joey Lavallee
Powerlifting: Christina Richard and Alex Charchuk took the Best Lifter in female and male, respectively.
The winner of the door prize, a $500 Pro Cycle Gift Card, was Sharleen Peter-Paul from Indian Brook NS. Congratulations, and thank you to Pro Cycle!
