Halifax, NS – The Halifax International Boat Show sponsored by Aviva wrapped up its 2024 edition amidst last weekend’s extreme winter storm. The show remained open at the Halifax Exhibition Centre for the entire 4 days as planned, February 1-4.

Despite the significant weather experienced across the province, the show’s dealers and exhibitors persevered and made the most out of the situation. While attendance numbers were impacted, sales were still made across the show floor with many visitors leaving having purchased a new model for the upcoming boating season.

“We seriously cannot express enough gratitude towards the people who put the effort into coming out to the Exhibition Centre this past weekend” says Scott Sprague, Event Manager. “The time and resources put into a show of this scale are significant and while it wasn’t an ideal weekend weather-wise, lots of positivity remained inside the building.

This event, which only happens once a year, offers visitors the chance to explore options and talk with a variety of boat dealers to help make an informed decision when purchasing a new watercraft. Dealers from throughout Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and PEI travelled to the Halifax Exhibition Centre to bring boating enthusiasts a wide selection of equipment to browse. Hosting this event during the winter months allows enough time for new boats to be delivered just in time for the summer season.

The 2024 edition showcased the latest models from the following dealers:

On Friday and Saturday of the show, visitors had the opportunity to take in a FREE seminar on a variety of topics such Sharks, Oak Island Shipwrecks and Pirate Treasures and Adaptive Sailing. A huge thank you goes out to our seminar presenters: Dr. Neil Hammerschlag, Tony Sampson, Canada’s SailGP Team, and the SailAble team.

The Halifax International Boat Show Sponsored by Aviva also collected non-perishable food items as part of the “Fill the Boat” campaign. Visitors who brought a food donation were given a ballot for a chance to win a two-person towable from Quartermaster Marine. Congratulations to our winner, Pamela Shiers.

Visitors also had the chance to win a Crewsaver Inflatable Boat from Seamasters Marine Services as the annual door prize. Congratulations to Tim Kruger, who was this year’s lucky winner.

The event was possible thank to the support of its amazing sponsors: Aviva Insurance Group, Alben Lane Candle Co. Quartermaster Marine, Seamasters Marine Services, Playwear and DSS Protection.
