Moncton, NB – The Moncton Coliseum will once again host Canada’s largest commercial marine event this Friday and Saturday as Fish Canada Workboat Canada enters its 18th edition. The biennial event welcomes those who make their living on, in, and around the water, and showcases thousands of products and services that keep Atlantic Canada’s marine-based industries running.

“In 2016, this show attracted the highest crowds in a decade,” said Show Manager Shawn Murphy. “This year the event is even bigger; visitors will see their favourite aspects of the show return, along with expanded floor space and lots of new exhibitors from boat building to fish processing. All signs indicate we will have the best show in the history of the event!”

The newest group of inductees into the Atlantic Canada Marine Industries Hall of Fame will be announced as part of the show. Awards will be presented by the Honourable Rick Doucet, Minister of Aquaculture and Fisheries, at a ceremony taking place on Friday, January 26th at 2:00 pm.

This special recognition was developed by the Navigator Magazine and Master Promotions Ltd. to pay lasting tribute to valuable contributors in any sector of the marine industry. New inductees to be honoured are:

  • Egbert Boertien, Prince Edward Island (Mariner category)
  • Russel Jacob, New Brunswick (Processor category)
  • Roger Sark, Prince Edward Island (Builder category)

Full bios of the inductees can be found on the show’s website.

Show visitors can climb aboard a 45’ fishing vessel displayed on the show floor, presented by DJ Marine and Samson Enterprises. They can also connect with a wide range of exhibitors, take advantage of exclusive show specials (a sneak preview is available on the show website now) and enter to win thousands of dollars in door prizes.

Show hours are 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Friday, January 26 and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 27. Visit www.FCWC.ca for complete show details, including online registration, which will remain available for a limited time. Show information is also available on Facebook and Twitter.
