Halifax, NS – The 2020 edition of the Halifax RV Show & Sale wrapped up on Sunday, January 26 after four days of camping fun at the Halifax Exhibition Centre, and marking a full twenty years as the largest event of its kind in the region.

Families, couples, and friends alike came out for the four-day event which offers the widest variety of camping units on display in Atlantic Canada. In addition to hundreds of RVs on display, the show brought together services, retail, and information on local campgrounds and destinations. A strong show of visitors were in the market for new units, with 120 total sales taking place on the show floor.

Celebrating 20 editions this year, a special thank-you took place on Thursday afternoon, with cake and a message from Show Manager Scott Sprague, who has been managing the event since its inception. The cake was cut by exhibitor Kim Stone from Stones RV, who has been involved with the event since its first edition along with many other dealers still represented at the show today.

Each year at the show, those who purchase an RV are entered to win $10,000 cash. This year’s lucky winners had a history with the contest, having also won the draw in 2011! Derek and Charmaine Moores first won nine years ago, when they purchased a Copper Canyon 5th Wheel from Stones RV New Glasgow at the show. This year, they upgraded to a 2020 Retreat 39loft also from Stones RV, and were drawn as winners once again!

Some additional visitor activities in this year’s show included a schedule of helpful presentations hosted by local RV tech experts. Visitors learned about maintenance tips, first-time RV purchasing, cooking for campers, and towing. Thanks to presenters and attendees.

The ever-popular Washer Toss Tournament was also back for its fourth edition. Teams battled it out for the coveted title in two separate divisions. The team called Twin Towers took first place in competitive, and City Slickers took first place in the open division. Prizes included cash and giveaways sponsored by Pine Acres RV. Congratulations!
