Charlottetown, PE – The International Potato Technology Expo and conference, North America’s leading potato event, runs this Friday and Saturday at Charlottetown’s Eastlink Centre. Welcoming those who grow and package potatoes, together with the leading manufacturers of equipment and products, the highly successful international event has been held biennially for more than two decades.

Thousands of attendees and exhibitors will be welcomed on the Island for the event, which covers the full spectrum of the industry – from seed, to soil, to growing, harvesting and packaging.

“We’re already working on setting up the venue, and everything is looking great so far,” said Shawn Murphy, Show Manager. “As one of the only events of this nature for the industry, we’re expecting thousands of attendees from the Island and the Maritimes, along with professionals traveling from the eastern United States and beyond. Between all the cutting-edge equipment displays and our focus on the educational conference, there’s a lot to see and do for delegates.”

Some of the features of this key trade event include:

  • The conference portion of the event runs both days, with educational sessions hosted by experts from academia, businesses, and government. See the full schedule and topics on the conference’s web page. New for 2020, one convenient visitor registration fee covers both the trade show and conference portions of the event.
  • Products on display will include harvesters, sprayers, pilers, cultivators, storage and climatization technology, tractors, machinery, seed cutters, plant genetics, seeds, bagging equipment, and more.
  • A variety of show-only specials and new products debuting on the trade show floor. A sneak preview of these is available on the show’s website.
  • Visitors can fill out a ballot at the show for a chance to win a variety of exciting door prizes from sponsors Allan Equipment Manufacturing Ltd; Fernrob Carwash & Pressure Cleaning Systems; Greg Raynor Enterprises; Helly Hansen Workwear; and Premier Tech Agriculture.

Online pre-registration will remain open for a limited time before the event. Visitors can pre-register to save money & fast-track entrance to the show. Registration is $10.00 online in advance ($20.00 at the door) and is valid for both show trade days and all conference sessions.

Thank you to presenting partners, Prince Edward Island Department of Agriculture and Land and the Prince Edward Island Potato Board, along with major sponsors, Farm Credit Canada and Syngenta.
